The week of welcome at UNC includes various parties (including pool parties), outdoor movies, casino night, games (like capture the flag), bands, socials, and of course all the academic meetings.

For ANYONE interested in joining a fraternity or sorority please consult the Fraternity Recruitment Page or the Sorority Recruitment Page.

There are many great Fraternities like Delta Sigma Phi, and Sororities like KKG, ADPi, Tri Sig, and ZTA.

• Semester Opens:Thu. Aug. 16


• New Student Convocation Sun. Aug. 19


• Summer Reading Program Mon. Aug. 20


• Classes Begin for All Students Tue. Aug. 21


• Last Day for Late Registration Mon. Aug. 27


• Labor Day Mon. Sep. 3 (No Classes Held, Holiday)
  University Day


• Classes cancelled during ceremony Fri. Oct. 12 (10:00am to 1:00pm)


• Fall Break begins Wed. Oct. 17


• Students return Mon. Oct. 22


• Keep an eye out for Fall Fest, its always a great party with lots of free food and giveaways!

Halloween Costume Contest

I know this is a bit late, but you should have known it was coming! Its time for the 2005 CampusBlender Halloween Contest! It's the usual drill: whore yourself up in a costume, take a picture of it, and send it to Partyincollege@gmail.com Take pictures of your friends' costumes as well and submit them also. There are no requirements, just email your picture and a brief description of your costume, your username, and if you'd like your name associated with the picture or just be anonymous. Prizes are too be determined.

I'll give you up until Nov. 5th for submissions, then I'll post the worthy ones in a thread in The Party.

UNCstudent.com Launch Give-a-Way

Register before October 31. for a chance to win an iPod (4GB) or a Spring Break Trip for two to the Bahamas. Winners will be listed on the site and notified via email. Be sure to tell your friends! Also, if you're interested in helping us spread the word about the site and help us post flyers next week shoot an email to krpowers@email.unc.edu to let us know and we'll send details. We'll be re-launching the site next week and starting our marketing push, and would love your help.

Site Update, Getting Suggestions

We're going to be doing a lot of things this upcoming semester to get things going on the site. We'll be hosting parties, posting flyers, giving away iPods and Spring Break Trips, sending letters, trying to get some DTH coverage, etc. We'll soon be asking if there is anyone that wants to help us, but first we first wanted to get some feedback from the core members on two things. Our questions are:

a) what do you like about this site?
b) how can we improve it (what features can we add, how can we make it more useful)?
c) what ideas do you have for promoting the site and encouraging use?

Please post any ideas in this thread.

This change is for the good, it will be under dedicated management who will be able to utilize the site to its fulliest and maximize the user experience with the site. This change is for the best and if you have any questions feel free to contact us, or post a comment below.

Current Pheels users will have their account moved to UNCstudent.com and also to Campusblender.com b/c partyheels will no longer be active. Again this change is for the good, if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
